Method
of Instruction
The programme will be delivered through modules of academic study
covering major specialties in Internal Medicine utilising whole
class lectures, interactive workshops, case based presentation
and discussions; prescribed self-learning reading and multimedia
video; and practical clinical attachments; with English as the
medium of instruction.
Course
Structure
- A
2 year part-time course with 12 modules of academic study taught
consecutively.
- Each
module comprises 12 hours of lecture and workshop at the LKS
Faculty of Medicine, to be completed in one weekend (Saturday:
2:30pm to 7:00pm & Sunday: 9:00am to 6:30pm).
-
Each module also includes 2 hours of small groups clinical attachment
at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong West Cluster Hospitals of
HA or other affiliated sites. They are usually conducted on
a weekday, depending on the activities of the Divisions.
Since
all the clinical attachments involve real-time contact with
patients in a usual day-to-day clinical setting (rather than
surrogates), the scheduling of these must be in line with
normal patient care, thus must be scheduled during the weekdays
when these activities actually take place.
-
All
dates will be announced as soon as they have been confirmed.
